Louise was born Feb. 28, 1928, in San Angelo to Ruth Green Petty and William Alfred Petty. As part of a military family, she lived all over the world and loved to share stories of her experiences. She settled in River Oaks, where she worked at and retired from Lubrications Engineers, Inc. in Fort Worth. She moved to Baytown in 1998 and resided with her daughter, Juanette "Jann" Butts.

Louise enjoyed reading a wide range of books and working crossword puzzles. She could play a mean game of Scrabble, but her favorite times were those spent with her grandchildren, Janice, Jenyne, Linda and Daniel. One of her greatest joys was attending Jenyne's wedding in August 2003 and welcoming Jenyne's husband, Wendell, her "new grandson," into the family. Her passion was learning more about her Lord and sharing with others how much she loved Jesus. She was a precious member of the Love Class of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. Her constant smile, feisty personality and quick wit won friends everywhere she went. No one could resist her ability to make them laugh and all were drawn by her genuine love for others.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Alfred Petty; and her sisters, Marie Stewart of San Angelo and Dorthy Van Huss of Fort Worth.

Louise will be missed greatly by many friends who loved her dearly, including those from Lubrications Engineers, Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, and the Jacinto Methodist Hospital Cancer Survivors Group.

Survivors: Daughters, Jann Butts of Baytown, Sherry Carter and husband, Charles, of Baytown; granddaughters, Janice Carter of Austin, Jenyne Carter Doman and husband, Wendell Carter Doman, of Greenville, Ill.; sisters, Alpha Mae Barina and husband, Harry, of Cleburne, Maida Kelly of Kerrville, Ada White and husband, Robert, of Snyder, Glenda Mathews and husband, Ralph, of San Angelo; brother-in-law, Virgil Van Huss of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
